Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Pelt marketplace at pelt.gg ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Platform.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Pelt LLC ("Pelt," "we," "us," or "our"). Your continued use of the Platform following any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including browsers, buyers, sellers, and any other visitors.

2. Your Use of Pelt

The Platform is a peer-to-peer marketplace for buying and selling in-game items for S&box and potentially other supported titles. You are responsible for your use of the Platform and for any consequences thereof.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction (whichever is greater), to use the Platform. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you may only use the Platform with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms. Users under 13 are strictly prohibited from using the Platform.

You must have a valid Steam account in good standing. The Platform is not available to users whose accounts have been previously suspended or terminated by Pelt.

3. Your Pelt Account

Accounts are created by authenticating with your Steam account via OpenID. Your Pelt account is linked to your Steam account and is personal, non-transferable, and may not be shared with or used by any other person.

  • Each person may maintain only one Pelt account. Operating multiple accounts is grounds for permanent suspension and forfeiture of balance.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including any actions taken by third parties who gain access to your account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Steam account and any credentials associated with your Pelt account, including your Steam API key and trade URL.
  • You must promptly notify us at support@pelt.gg if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Engage in fraud, including but not limited to: filing fraudulent chargebacks, using stolen payment methods, or misrepresenting item ownership.
  • Engage in price manipulation, wash trading, shill bidding, or any form of market manipulation to artificially influence item prices.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Platform without explicit written permission.
  • Use bots, scripts, or other automated means to interact with the Platform, create listings, make purchases, or perform any other actions.
  • Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
  • Circumvent or attempt to circumvent fees, trade restrictions, account limitations, rate limits, or any security measures.
  • List items that are trade-locked, restricted, or otherwise unavailable for transfer via Steam trade offers.
  • Harass, threaten, impersonate, or defraud other users of the Platform.
  • Use the Platform for money laundering, terrorist financing, or any other illegal activity.
  • Exploit bugs, vulnerabilities, or errors in the Platform. If you discover a vulnerability, report it to support@pelt.gg.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform, its servers, or networks connected to the Platform.

5. Enforcement Measures

Pelt reserves the right to take any of the following actions in response to violations of these Terms, suspected fraud, or conduct that we determine to be harmful to the Platform or its users:

  • Content removal: Removal of listings, offers, buy orders, or other user content.
  • Temporary suspension: Restricting your ability to buy, sell, deposit, or withdraw for a specified period.
  • Permanent termination: Permanently closing your account with no ability to create a new one.
  • Account fines: Deducting amounts from your balance as a penalty for violations, including but not limited to: failed trade penalties, chargeback fees, and fraud-related fines.
  • Balance forfeiture: Upon permanent termination for violation of these Terms, any remaining account balance may be forfeited. Pelt is not obligated to return funds to users who have engaged in fraud, abuse, or other prohibited conduct.

Pelt may take these actions at its sole discretion, with or without prior notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any enforcement action, but are not required to do so where doing so would compromise security or an ongoing investigation.

6. User Transactions, Fees, and Fines

Trade Flow

  1. A seller lists an item from their Steam inventory at a chosen price.
  2. A buyer purchases the listing using their Pelt balance. Funds are held in escrow by Pelt.
  3. The seller has 30 minutes to accept the sale, then 2 hours to send a Steam trade offer containing the purchased item to the buyer.
  4. Pelt verifies the trade offer via the Steam API to confirm the correct item was sent and accepted.
  5. Once verified, escrowed funds (minus the 2% seller fee) are credited to the seller's Pelt balance.

Fees

  • 2% seller fee on completed sales, deducted from the seller's proceeds. This fee is calculated on the sale price at the time of purchase and deducted automatically when funds are released to the seller.
  • 2% withdrawal fee on all withdrawals, deducted from your balance in addition to the withdrawal amount. For example, if you withdraw $100, the fee is $2 and $102 total is deducted from your balance.
  • No buyer fee. Buyers pay the listed price with no additional transaction fee.
  • Fees are non-refundable once a trade has been successfully completed or a withdrawal has been processed.
  • Pelt reserves the right to modify fee structures with at least 14 days' notice posted on the Platform.

Trade Failures and Fines

Sellers who repeatedly fail to complete trades (failing to accept within 30 minutes, failing to send the trade offer within 2 hours, or sending incorrect items) may be subject to fines deducted from their account balance and/or temporary or permanent suspension.

Taxes

You are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes that apply to your transactions on the Platform, including income tax, sales tax, VAT, or any other applicable taxes. Pelt does not provide tax advice. Consult a qualified tax professional regarding your obligations.

7. Account Balance

  • Your Pelt balance is a record of funds available for use on the Platform. It is not a bank account, deposit account, or any form of stored value that accrues interest.
  • Your balance is non-transferable and may only be used to purchase items on the Platform or withdrawn subject to these Terms.
  • You have no personal property right in your Pelt balance beyond the right to use it on the Platform or withdraw eligible funds.
  • Only funds earned from completed sales (withdrawable balance) may be withdrawn. Deposited funds are for marketplace purchases only and cannot be directly withdrawn.
  • Pelt does not guarantee that your balance is convertible to cash at all times. Withdrawals are subject to identity verification, processing times, and available funds.

8. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Refunds

  • Deposits are non-refundable once credited to your Pelt balance. If you believe a deposit was made in error, contact support@pelt.gg for review.
  • Failed trades are automatically refunded to the buyer's Pelt balance. If a seller fails to accept, fails to send the trade, or the trade is declined, the full purchase amount is returned to the buyer.
  • Chargebacks filed without first contacting Pelt support may result in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of balance.

10. User Content

By uploading, submitting, or displaying content on the Platform (including but not limited to profile information, listing descriptions, and communications), you grant Pelt a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, copy, modify, distribute, and display such content in connection with operating and improving the Platform.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to grant this license for any content you submit, and that your content does not violate any third-party rights.

11. License to Use Pelt

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Pelt grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform for your personal, non-commercial use (buying and selling in-game items).

This license does not include the right to: (a) modify, copy, or create derivative works of the Platform; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform; (c) use the Platform for any commercial purpose beyond buying and selling items as an individual user; or (d) sublicense, sell, or transfer your access to any third party.

12. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Pelt does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content, data, or information on the Platform.

Pelt acts solely as an intermediary connecting buyers and sellers. We do not own, possess, or control any in-game items traded on the Platform. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality, or availability of items listed by users.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PELT, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.

PELT'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FEES YOU HAVE PAID TO PELT IN THE SIX (6) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).

Pelt is not responsible for issues arising from the Steam platform, including trade holds, trade bans, inventory errors, or Steam API downtime.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Pelt LLC, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.
  • Any content you submit or transmit through the Platform.
  • Any fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity conducted through your account.

15. Termination

Either you or Pelt may terminate your account at any time, for any reason.

  • By you: You may request account deletion by contacting support@pelt.gg. Before deletion, you should withdraw any eligible funds and complete any pending transactions.
  • By Pelt: We may suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms or for any conduct we determine to be harmful to the Platform or its users.
  • Upon termination for violation of these Terms, any remaining account balance may be forfeited. Pelt is not obligated to return funds to users terminated for prohibited conduct.
  • Upon voluntary termination in good standing, Pelt will make reasonable efforts to allow you to withdraw any remaining eligible balance.
  • Certain data may be retained after account deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.

16. Arbitration and Class Action Waiver

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered on an individual basis only. You agree that any arbitration will be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action.

Class action waiver: YOU AGREE TO WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION. You may only bring claims against Pelt in your individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.

Arbitration shall be conducted under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). The arbitration shall take place in Cheyenne, Wyoming, or at another mutually agreed location. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.

Small claims exception: Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court's jurisdictional limits.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.

18. DMCA / Copyright Notices

If you believe that content on the Platform infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to support@pelt.gg with the following information:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • A description of where the infringing material is located on the Platform.
  • Your contact information (name, address, email, phone).
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

19. Changes to These Terms

Pelt reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Post the updated Terms on the Platform with a revised "Last updated" date.
  • Provide reasonable notice (e.g., a banner on the Platform or email notification) for significant changes.

Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform.
